As the Covid 19 continues to impact our travelling, we feel it is important to convey to all our guests directly what steps we have taken for you to feel safe and healthy while staying with us. Our priority is that you enjoy your stay with us while keeping safe. At The Artist Residence Dublin, we adhere to the highest cleaning standards possible in line with Irish Government Guidelines. We have also implemented additional measures in the face of COVID-19 to ensure that our guests feel a sense of security when staying with us. We are confident that these extra measures and precautions make our Bed & Breakfast a safe place to stay and relax.

We have planned to reopen on the 14th June 2020 contingent upon Health Department Guidelines for the hospitality Industry. For the safety of our guests and staff, we are implementing additional operating procedures which include breakfast service changes, guest room housekeeping, and common area procedures to supplement our already rigorous processes, all geared to ensure the utmost safety practices in cleanliness and hygiene.

Guest check-in and check-out

Considering current social distancing guidelines, new contact-less check-in and check-out procedures are now being employed. Since our standard reservation system collects final payments and processes receipts electronically prior to guest arrivals, the need for credit cards, pens, or papers to be exchanged at arrival will be limited.

Guests will find envelopes containing their sanitized room keys and a welcome letter with further information about their stay. The welcome letter will include your hosts’ mobile numbers to facilitate communications via texting. As always, your hosts will be on-premises and will happily answer any inquiries from an appropriate distance, when required.

Self serve disinfection table

All our guests can avail of hand sanitisers, gloves and masks. Cleaning and disinfection products and paper are also available if they wish to disinfect any personal belongings when arriving, leaving the B&B for the day or returning to our B&B. This is located on the hallway dresser. A separate waste basket is provided.

Staff

Staff have been trained for enhanced cleaning and serving procedures. 

  • All staff are provided with cloth face masks that will be washed/sanitized after each use.
  • All staff wear gloves and masks while preparing your room and all areas in the B&B, and in all phases of your food preparation.
  • A Social Distancing Programme. We adhere to social distancing which will keep guests and staff safe.

Guest room & housekeeping service

We pride ourselves in our levels of disinfection and cleanliness and we will continue with these in addition to further enhanced housekeeping measures and increased sanitation programmes.

This encompasses a dual approach of frequent cleaning of all touch-points and additional deep cleaning sessions in all areas.

Guest rooms

Our Information booklet has been disinfected page by page. Extraneous items such as throw pillows, throw blankets, magazines, and books will be removed from the rooms or sanitised before each new guest. Such items can be requested.

Upon check-out, rooms will be stripped of all linens, inserted into a laundry bags and taken to the laundry room to be washed and sanitized. Beds will be remade with clean / sanitized linens. All hard surfaces will be cleaned and sanitised. All doorknobs, switches, drawer pulls, alarm clock/UBS stations, TV remote controls will be sanitized. Soft surfaces will be sprayed with fabric sanitizing spray.

Bathrooms and all floors will continue to be cleaned with bleach cleaners. Tray liners and table mats will be removed and replaced after each stay. As always, rooms get inspected by your hosts and locked until guests check-in.

Common areas

At The Artist Residence Dublin we love sharing our books, boardgames, curios, memorabilia, artwork or other items on display. Please leave on the hall table any item you may  have used to ensure it is disinfected and ready for others to use.

Common areas will be cleaned and sanitized more frequently. High touch areas such as doorknobs and banisters will be cleaned throughout the day.

Daily housekeeping service

To minimize cross-contact of surfaces, daily housekeeping tidy service will be discontinued at this time with exception to long stays of three nights or longer. This will minimize staff need to access guest rooms during a stay. Arrangements will be made with individual guests for rubbish and soiled towel removal.

Kitchen

Kitchen sanitation procedures will continue with:

  • High-temperature commercial grade dish machine to sanitize dishes, silverware, glassware
  • Surfaces cleaned and sanitized with bleach

Other

Garden chairs will be cleaned several times per day.

Beach towels will be laundered after each use.

Breakfast & tea coffee facilities

The Artist Residence full breakfast service will continue as usual. All food and beverages will be served to guests. The following changes will be employed:

  • All self-service food in the breakfast room will be discontinued. Beverages will be served at the table. Guests will be given a menu with all the breakfast options available.
  • One breakfast menu will be posted each day in advance in the common area for guests to read.
  • Servers will wear face masks during breakfast service, and, as always, will wash their hands before and after every guest interaction.
  • Tables will be set with clean/sanitized napkins, silverware, glasses, mugs, condiments, etc. for each guest.
  • At breakfast, staff will review breakfast options with guests and take orders.
  • To-go breakfasts will be discussed with guests in advance and will be packed individually. 

Seating

We will employ breakfast schedule times. Each guest will be asked to schedule their preferred breakfast seating the previous day.

Tables will be available in the dining room and on the garden patio. At any given seating, we will ensure the appropriate distance between tables and guests is kept at all times.

Self-serve tea/coffee and afternoon treats

The guest self-service tea/coffee will not be available at this time. Guests may request beverages from their hosts throughout the day if they would like coffee or teas. Bags of ice will be available.

The daily afternoon baked item will be individually boxed and made available to guests.
